OTC’s first sale of the season was a small sale of primarily long-hair furs.  An ordinary collection of Oregon and Idaho coyotes comprised over half of the sale.  Coyotes sold almost 100 % at prices in line with current market levels.  Red fox (SW Idaho types) were slightly easier than last season, representing current widespread caution in the market.  Beaver prices were very strong, with 2/3 of the collection comprised of smaller sizes.  The bobcat offering was very limited and consisted of early, ordinary quality eastern Oregon pelts.  The muskrat and raccoon offerings were very ordinary and consisted primarily of early goods.  Prices on badger, marten, otter, and grey fox were very strong.

Overall, the fur harvesters were pleased with prices and OTC is looking forward to a large turnout of both sellers and buyers at our next sale.
